Do I have to take a TOEFL iBT or IELTS exam?

Yes; you should present valid and official results confirming English language proficiency through TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic or take the AUA Standardized English Assessment. Native and near-native speakers are eligible for a waiver (pending proof). For more information, please read the English Language Proficiency waiver policy.

What are the minimum TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic scores required for admission?

The target score of TOEFL iBT is 79 and the target score for IELTS Academic is 6.5. Applicants with scores below the targets may be considered for conditional admission. However, applicants with a 68 or lower on the TOEFL iBT or 5.5 or lower on the IELTS Academic will be automatically denied admission.

Do I have to take a GRE exam?

The MAIRD and MPA programs do not require applicants to take a GRE exam; however, it is highly recommended.

How long are the MAIRD/MPA programs?

The MAIRD/MPA programs are 1.5-years with Fall - Spring - Summer - Fall semesters.

How many credits does MPA or MAIRD program require for graduation?

Both MPA and MAIRD programs require 45 credits upon graduation.

Can I complete the MAIRD/MPA degrees part-time?

Yes, it is possible to complete the MAIRD/MPA degrees part-time. To learn more, please contact the Office of the Registrar.

What time are classes?

All our classes are in the evening from 18:30 to 21:20.

How many applicants get enrolled in the MAIRD and MPA programs each year?

We usually admit around 25 students to each of our programs throughout the three (3) admission cycles.

What is the main difference between the MAIRD and MPA programs?

The MAIRD program focuses on understanding global socio-economic and political processes, while the MPA teaches contemporary tools to develop and assess policy-making in all its aspects. Both programs complement each other since policies implemented at a national level are influenced by global challenges, and vice versa.

If I get admitted to MAIRD, can I take courses in MPA and vice versa?

Yes, besides the core courses offered in your enrolled program you can choose electives from MAIRD/MPA.

What job opportunities are available for MAIRD or MPA graduates?

MAIRD and MPA graduates typically pursue careers in academia, public and private sectors, CSOs, well-known international institutions in Armenia and abroad, or are self-employed.
